Death Investigation Update
Kalispell, Montana - May 16, 2026. 12:30 PM - The Kalispell Police Department has concluded its
preliminary investigation into the death that occurred this morning in the 200 block of 10th Ave.
West.
Based on the preliminary investigation, the death appears to be a suicide. There is no threat to the
public.
This is a deeply tragic event, and our thoughts are with the individual’s loved ones, as well as all those
impacted by this loss. Incidents like this are a heartbreaking reminder that mental health struggles can
affect anyone, and support is available.

Law enforcement personnel are clearing the scene, and normal traffic flow in the area is expected to
resume early this afternoon.

Death Investigation
Kalispell, Montana - May 16, 2026, 8:40 AM - Death Investigation At approximately 5:39 a.m.,
Kalispell Police Department officers responded to the 200 block of 10th Ave. West for a report of an
unresponsive male outside a caller’s residence. The Kalispell Police Department is currently
conducting a death investigation at the scene. Law enforcement activity will continue throughout the
morning as officers process the scene and conduct a thorough investigation. Residents and motorists
are asked to avoid the area and use alternative routes to minimize disruptions and allow investigators
to work safely. At this time, there is no threat to the public. Additional details will be released as they
become available following a thorough investigation.
