Plan C built a network to distribute chemical abortion pills outside the U.S. regulatory system.
Now they're bragging about it in print.
A Slate article this week quoted Plan C admitting that 100,000 or more women a year obtain chemical
abortion pills through channels that bypass federal oversight and the group's co-founder made clear
they have no intention of stopping.
Plan C Admits 100000 Women a Year Get Abortion Pills Through Illegal Channels
Plan C describes itself as a public health campaign calling for "universal access to abortion pills."
What it actually does is connect women to pill providers operating outside the law.
According to the Slate article, Plan C itself estimates 100,000-plus women annually obtain chemical
abortion pills through what they call "channels that bypass the U.S. regulatory system."
That's not a bureaucratic description.
That's an admission of illegal distribution — stated by the organization running the network.
The Slate piece goes further, quoting Plan C co-founder Elisa Wells directly: "We could see the
political restriction of care coming, and we are prepared for it."
In other words: laws don't matter to these people.
Oklahoma just made abortion pill trafficking a felony.
Justice Thomas just called it a federal crime under the Comstock Act.
Plan C's response is to tell a reporter they're ready.
Why the Real Number of Illegal Abortion Pills Is Almost Certainly Much Higher
Plan C's 100,000 figure represents roughly 10 percent of reported abortions — but that math only
works if you trust the reported number.
There is no national abortion reporting law in the United States.
Nobody is required to report abortions to the federal government.
The most recent Guttmacher Institute data counted approximately 1,124,000 clinician -provided
abortions in 2024 — and Guttmacher explicitly acknowledged that count does not include self -
managed abortions using pills mailed from outside the U.S. or sourced through community networks.
Plan C's network is precisely what Guttmacher excluded from its count.
Which means the 100,000 illegal abortions Plan C admits to are on top of the over one million already
being reported.
The abortion industry has every incentive to undercount.
They have zero incentive to be honest about how many abortions are happening outside any oversight
whatsoever.
Plan C Just Gave Trump Everything He Needs to Enforce the Comstock Act
The Slate article describes exactly what Justice Thomas flagged in his dissent two weeks ago.
Pro -abortion states and organizations have spent four years building what Slate called "a robust
infrastructure of websites, hotlines, and organizational partnerships" to route women to unregulated pill
sources — with the explicit goal of circumventing state pro -life laws.
That is the scheme Justice Alito called an effort to "undermine our decision in Dobbs" in his written
dissent.
The Comstock Act makes it a federal crime to mail abortion -inducing drugs.
Plan C is publicly admitting their network routes around that law.
Trump has the authority to enforce the Comstock Act today — without a single new vote in Congress.
Students for Life of America has already delivered thousands of petitions to the Department of Justice
demanding exactly that.
Plan C just handed them a quote for the indictment.
