BACKGROUND: The City has identified the need to reconstruct 3 blocks along 8th St W from
the intersections of 51h Ave W to 81h Ave W. This segment was identified due to its poor
Pavement Condition Index ranking and poor drainage in this location during storm events.
Project scope includes furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment required to remove
surfacing, regrade, and reconstruct 81h St W between 51h Ave W and 81h Ave W. Also included
will be the installation of curb and gutter throughout, removal and replacement of ADA ramps,
adjustment of catch basins, and installation of two manhole structures.
BIDDING RESULTS: Bids were received and opened on May 6, 2026, at 3:00 PM. One
responsive bid was received and is summarized below.

Wesco, Inc. was the low bidder and is considered a responsible bidder that met the requirements
to complete the project as bid. Public Works recommends awarding the bid to Wesco, Inc.
ACTION REQUESTED: Motion to award the 8th St W Drainage Improvements Project
contract to Wesco, Inc.
FISCAL EFFECTS: The 8th St W Drainage Improvements Project is budgeted and will be
funded through the Storm Fund: Misc Line Item 95349-453-430247-952, and the Gas Tax/Street
Fund: Line Item 92420-421-430240-368.
ALTERNATIVES: As suggested and approved by the City Council.
