Jarod From: barbara boorman <barbboorman@yahoo.com> Sent: Wednesday, May 13, 2026 7:23 AM To: Jarod Nygren <jnygren@kalispell.com> Subject: EXTERNAL Compliance/Enforcement Officer May 12, 2026 Dear Kalispell City Mayor and Council Members, I strongly urge you to vote in favor of hiring a compliance/enforcement officer. I live on Kalispell's westside and often see flagrant violations of city ordinances. The violation I find most egregious and endemic is the illegal use of the city right of way/boulevard. What used to be lovely green spaces (to be enjoyed by all Kalispell tax paying residents) have become places for the long-term storage of personal vehicles. Some property owners have even removed the grass and installed gravel. In addition, there are sidewalks obstructed by vehicles and shrubbery, yards with numerous stored vehicles giving the appearance of a "junk yard" and the parking (sometimes for months) of vehicles in violation of the 72 hour limit. Based on personal experience I believe there should be an officer enforcing city ordinances rather than the current "citizen based complaint" system. Again, I urge you to vote in favor of hiring a compliance/enforcement officer. Thank you, Barbara Boorman 739 5th Street West Kalispell, MT 59901-4739 Jumping curb to park on lawn.
