Bear Safety Education and Infastructure Public Comment from Ryan Wilbur, People and Carnivores Aimee Brunckhorst From: Ryan Wilbur <rwilbur@peopleandcarnivores.org> Sent: Wednesday, May 6, 2026 12:17 PM To: Kalispell Meetings Public Comment Subject: EXTERNAL Bear Safety Education and Infastructure Hi, I hope you're doing well. My name is Ryan Wilbur with People and Carnivores, a nonprofit dedicated to reducing human-wildlife conflict across Northwest Montana through education and attractant management. I am based in Kalispell and have been coordinating closely with Justine, the local bear manager at Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks. As bears become more active this season, we want to support the city to keep residents safe and wildlife wild. We would welcome the chance to connect and discuss how we might support Kalispell in strengthening its approach to bear safety. This could include public outreach, collaboration on grant opportunities, or exploring infrastructure strategies. If you're available, I would be happy to schedule a brief meeting at your convenience. Thank you for your time and consideration, and I look forward to the possibility of working together.
