Kalispell Hires PJ Sorensen as Director of Development Services Press ReleaseFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE City of Kalispell Hires PJ Sorensen as Director of Development Services Kalispell, Montana – April 24, 2026 – The City of Kalispell is pleased to announce the hiring of PJ Sorensen as its new Development Services Director. Sorensen will oversee the City’s Planning, Building, and Community Development Departments. Sorensen has served the City for the past 27 years within Development Services. Most recently, he has served as Assistant Director of Development Services, where he has played a key role in guiding growth, development review, and long-range planning efforts. Throughout his career, Sorensen has developed extensive expertise in planning, zoning, and community development, helping shape policies and projects that support the community’s growth while maintaining its character. Most recently, he was central to the development of the Land Use Plan, ensuring compliance with state law and leading extensive public outreach and engagement initiatives. Sorensen affirmed, “Meaningful involvement of the public in shaping how government functions helps create a structure that best addresses what the community wants and needs”.
