City Council,
I have lived in the valley for 27 years ,outside the city limits ,but close to town.
I raised 3 children here.
A few weeks ago on a Friday night I met friends at Bias Brewing and we were on the rooftop.
We were all horrified by the noise and speeding cars. We had a hard time talking and had to
pause every 30 seconds or so as cars sped by.
We saw one police officer who pulled over one car. I do not understand why the city allows this
to continue?
My daughter grew up in Kalispell and attended Flathead High School. Last summer she and her
family moved back and were very excited to live in downtown Kalispell until they experienced
Main Street on a Friday night. They were saddened and appalled that the city allows this to
happen. They now live in Whitefish.
I met a young couple from Seattle last summer who were hoping to relocate to Kalispell. They
happened to be downtown on a Friday night and were horrified. They are now looking to
relocate to another different city.
You are allowing a few to ruin downtown Kalispell. I understand freedoms but I don't
understand allowing the dangerous ,speeding cars, black smoke and noise.
I avoid downtown Kalispell , by allowing this to continue you are hurting downtown businesses.
Please act now to stop this.
Thank you,
Elizabeth Makman
