BACKGROUND: Annually, the city solicits for contractor support for sidewalk and curbing
reconstruction. Project support includes furnishing materials, labor, and equipment required to remove
and replace concrete pavement and curbing. Sidewalk and curbing restoration projects are located
throughout the incorporated limits of the City of Kalispell and work is completed on an as needed basis
with the issuance of work orders.
BIDDING RESULTS: Bids were received and opened on April 9, 2026, at 3:15 PM. The two responsive
bids that were received are summarized below.

requirements to complete the projects as bid. Public Works recommends awarding the bid to Sandon
Construction.

ACTION REQUESTED: Motion to award the Sidewalk and Curbing Construction Ending June 30,
2027, contract to Sandon Construction.
FISCAL EFFECTS: The projects, depending on their scope, will be funded by several funds within FY
26/27 budget allocations that are necessary to perform sidewalk, ADA, curb and gutter, and other related
concrete work. Funds include Gas Tax — Sidewalk and Curb Construction, Gas Tax —
Overlay/Chipsets/BARSAA, Storm Fund — Curb and Gutter, Streets Fund — Pavement Repairs, Walk &
Curb Construction (8 Yr), and Non -responsive Property Owners Fund.
ALTERNATIVES: As suggested and approved by the City Council.
