ThinkOne is a Bozeman -based, full -service architectural firm with a strong focus on public -sector projects. We deliver design solutions
that balance creativity, functionality, and long-term value. At the core of our practice is a simple philosophy:
Put people first and exceptional projects will follow.
For ThinkOne, this means understanding the people who work in, maintain, and interact with our facilities every day. Successful design
begins with how a building is used —how people move through spaces, perform their work, maintain safety, and service systems over
time. By focusing on operational needs, we create environments that are intuitive, efficient, and supportive of their missions.
Equally important is designing for those who will maintain these facilities long after construction. Thoughtful material selection, durable
systems, and clear layouts reduce maintenance demands, extend building life, and protect public investment. Buildings that are easy to
use and maintain perform better, last longer, and deliver greater long-term value.
ThinkOne has built a reputation for excellence through lasting relationships with clients, communities, and project partners. Our team
brings deep experience to every phase of a project —from programming and planning through design and construction administration.
This collaborative, hands-on approach promotes clear communication, accountability, and consistently successful outcomes.
Over the past fifteen years, a significant portion of ThinkOne's portfolio has focused on public projects for governmental entities, often
involving multiple user groups, secure environments, and complex operational requirements. Open communication and stakeholder
engagement have been central to their success, allowing us to design buildings that support mission -critical operations while improving
efficiency, safety, and user experience.
For Kalispell Fire, we have assembled a highly qualified team of design professionals who share ThinkOne's service -driven philosophy.
All of our consultants bring recent, hands-on fire station experience working alongside the ThinkOne team. We are confident that our
collaborative approach, technical expertise, and dedication to client success will make us a strong partner in achieving your goals.

PROJECT EXPERIENCE I Community Design
For more than forty years, ThinkOne has had the privilege of de-
signing civic projects across Montana. We take pride in creating
spaces that enrich the daily lives of the communities we serve.
Architecture shapes the user experience —from the way one
approaches a building to the tactile interaction with finishes, door
handles, and stair rails. Every detail is thoughtfully considered to
ensure each project is functional, engaging, and responsive to its
context.
Every project presents unique challenges, and we view these
as opportunities to develop innovative solutions that balance
practicality with thoughtful design. By carefully analyzing site
conditions, user needs, and program requirements, we create
buildings that are intuitive, efficient, and adaptable over time.
Combining creativity with strategic problem -solving allows us to
deliver architecture that stands the test of time —both visually and
functionally.
Sustainability is a guiding principle in all our work. Whether or not
a project pursues formal certifications such as LEED, we aim to
incorporate environmentally responsible strategies whenever fea-
sible. From energy -efficient systems and water -saving measures
to thoughtful material selection and indoor environmental quality,
we seek opportunities to reduce environmental impact while im-
proving long-term building performance. For ThinkOne, sustain-
able design is not an add -on —it is integral to creating resilient
facilities that serve communities for generations.

Over the past decade, ThinkOne has designed numerous fire stations across Montana, including three for the City of Bozeman. A
central feature of each station is specialized decontamination zones that separate "clean" and "dirty" circulation paths. This allows
firefighters to move safely from apparatus and field operations into living areas, maintaining hygiene and reducing contaminant transfer,
Seasonal challenges such as mud, snow, ice, and road debris further underscore the need for well -designed wash bays, gear storage,
and transition areas.
Drawing on our experience, we implement proven strategies such as positively pressurized transition zones and efficient workflow
layouts. These design solutions enhance long-term functionality, streamline equipment maintenance, and create safe, durable, and
adaptable stations that support firefighters in all conditions.

BOZEMAN PUBLIC SAFETY CENTER
Bozeman, Montana
T H I N K I AndersonMasonDale T M A
Bozeman Public Safety Center is a multi -faceted, centralized station hous-
ing Bozeman's Fire Station #1, Police Headquarters, Municipal Courts,
Attorney Offices and Victim Services. The design strategy is driven by the
relationship between departments and the daily interactions and operations
of the facility. The layout of the facility is optimal for staff security, however
maintains an inviting public lobby, community room and circulation to the
second level Municipal Court functions. The design team prioritized the
need to strike a delicate balance of creating welcoming public facade yet
making precautions for the safety and well-being all occupants.
Essential to the design of the facility is site development and creating a
secure portion of the site for Police Department vehicles as well as secure
parking for staff members. Additionally, the site is designed to accommo-
date large fire trucks and emergency response vehicles with direct access
onto Rouse Ave. Overall the development of the site plays a crucial role in
the daily operations of all building occupants.
Bozeman Public Safety Center was designed in collaboration with Ander-
son Mason Dale out of Denver, Colorado and TCA out of Seattle, Washing-
ton. ThinkOne has a great working relationship with multiple firms across
the country. Through our collaborative effort, we strive for exceptional
functionality and aesthetically pleasing, timeless architecture.
In recognition of this facility's excellence, Bozeman Public Safety Center
was awarded AIA Montana "Design Excellence Honor Award" as well as
Officer Magazine and Firehouse Station Design Gold Awards.

T H I N ARCHITECTS
Central Valley Fire District - Station #1 was completed in June of 2019. This unique
station is revolutionary in its approach to isolating environmental contaminants. By
designing a stand-alone building for vehicle and fire fighter decontamination, the fire-
fighters are able to isolate cancer causing pollutants in a separate building, allowing
the living and work environment to remain as clean as possible. Central Valley Fire
District, Station #1 is the first of its kind in the United States.
As a project team, we utilized an integrated design approach, including utilizing a
GCCM from the early design phase. With a GCCM on -board early, we were able to
accurately track expenses during design to ultimately deliver the project within an
expedited timeline and within budget.

Statement of Qualifications I City of Kalispell - Fire Departmen
DESIGN APPROACH
Our design approach begins with user -focused workshops,
engaging department leadership, firefighters, and support staff to
understand operational needs, equipment requirements, and future
growth projections. This collaborative process fosters constructive
dialogue, enthusiasm, and a sense of ownership.
For Kalispell Fire Station, our team will validate program
requirements and review site constraints, considering square
footage, apparatus access, and operational efficiency. Early in the
project, we focus on defining priorities and establishing shared
values to guide collaborative decision -making. This framework
ensures informed, value -based decisions aligned with project goals.
We recognize that providing design services in the Flathead
Valley presents some logistical considerations due to the distance
between Bozeman and Kalispell. However, modern communication
technologies and virtual collaboration tools significantly reduce the
impact of travel, allowing our team to maintain frequent coordination
with project partners. In addition, ThinkOne is currently designing
Bigfork Fire Station 31, with construction anticipated through spring
2028, which will require our team to regularly travel to the Flathead
Valley for construction administration and site visits. This ongoing
regional presence, combined with real-time construction monitoring
tools, enables our team, owners, and contractors to track progress,
address issues pro -actively, and ensure seamless project delivery.
Successful fire station design also requires active engagement with
a broad range of stakeholders, including department leadership,
staff, municipal officials, and the broader community. We emphasize
transparency and inclusive participation, tailoring engagement
strategies through workshops, design charrettes, public meetings,
online surveys, and social media outreach. These tools ensure all
voices are heard and meaningful dialogue occurs.
Equally important is integrating stakeholder input into the design. Our process builds consensus around priorities, balances diverse
perspectives, and creates shared ownership of the final facility. By maintaining clear, accessible communication, we foster trust among
partners and deliver a station that meets operational needs, reflects community values, strengthens civic pride, and stands as a lasting
investment in public safety.

Design Considerations
Emergency operations, particularly Fire Stations, must remain fully functional under the conditions that place the greatest demands
on their services. Our approach prioritizes operational continuity, ensuring that critical functions are maintained regardless of
weather or emergency conditions. Based on past experience, our team incorporates a range of proven strategies to aid in the
functional use of fire stations:
Site Design Optimizing circulation for apparatus, snow removal and equipment storage, heated or sheltered entry
points for equipment and staff and durable exterior surfaces that withstand continued plowing and de-icing.
Building Fnvelopr, High performance insulation, air barriers, and low -maintenance exterior materials designed to
resist moisture intrusion, ice buildup and freeze -thaw deterioration.
Mechanical + Electrical Svstem Redundant heating systems, protected utilities, pressurized vestibules to
separate "dirty and clean" zones, and back-up power generation help ensure reliability.
Snow + Ice Manaaement Roof structures designed to accommodate heavy snow loads, strategic drainage
considerations and safe pedestrian circulation paths.
Planning for resilience extends beyond robust construction - it begins with a deep understanding of Fire Department operations.
By analyzing workflows and daily routines, we can design stations that maximize operational efficiency while maintaining a safe
and healthy environment for firefighters and staff. This includes, warm vehicle storage, strategically located bunker gear rooms and
dedicated PPE decontamination areas to contain pathogens and protect clean living spaces. Every design decision is informed by
operational priorities, ensuring staff can respond quickly and safely.
We recognize a Fire Station is uniquely more than a workplace or a utility tool - it is "home away from home" and the team of people
becomes a natural extension of their family. Our design team prioritizes spaces that support rest, recovery, and camaraderie,
providing comfortable living quarters, communal areas and private spaces for well -deserved respite. By creating an environment that
balances operational readiness with personal well-being, we aim to ensure all staff can perform at their best while fostering a sense of
family and community within the station.
4 J Cost Control
Integral to our team's design philosophy is delivering
sustainable solutions that reduce energy consumption
while utilizing durable, low -maintenance materials to
minimize long-term upkeep. We view sustainability
as more than energy efficiency — it is also about
protecting human health by promoting clean air,
limiting the use of harmful chemicals, and supporting
social well-being through resilient and people -focused
infrastructure.
Our team has extensive experience delivering high-
performance facilities across the U.S., including the
American Indian Hall at Montana State University
— the State of Montana's first LEED Platinum (v4.0)
project. This nationally recognized achievement
demonstrates our ability to integrate advanced
sustainable strategies while meeting budget and
performance goals.
Recent project experience includes incorporating the
following active strategies:
• Geothermal Heating + Cooling
• Photovoltaic Energy Generation
• Electrification of Building Components
• Solar Wall Technology
• Drought -Tolerant Landscaping
• Water -wise Plumbing Systems
As architects working with public clients, we recognize the responsibility
entrusted to us to use finite resources wisely and efficiently. We view
cost control as an integral part of our design process and plan to use
incremental cost analysis to validate our design choices. Our approach
is iterative, with budgeting integrated at every step of design. Before any
concepts are developed, we establish a cost model based on program
requirements, spatial types, and proposed building
systems. This allows our team to guide decisions
y based on scope, quality and value, ensuring every
design decision reflects both the project's goals and
L G the responsible use of public funds.
