MEETING DATE: January20, 2026
BACKGROUND: Police Officers Westphal, Ormiston, Buis, Franklin, Suhre and Malloy
have all met the requirements including the Montana Law Enforcement Academy or an
equivelant, KPD Field Training Program and 1 year probationary period to be confirmed
as police officers in the City of Kalispell.
All of these officers have displayed the work ethic, skillset and character to be confirmed
as police officers with the Kalispell Police Department.
RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the Council confirm Officers Westphal,
Ormiston, Buis, Franklin, Suhre and Malloy as Police Officers with the Kalispell Police
Department.
