THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR EXCAVATING FITTINGS AND CONFIRMING REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO ORDERING NEW FITTINGS. 5.THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PLUG ALL OPENINGS ON EXISTING ABANDONED UTILITY LINES IN PLACE. 6.THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY NECESSARY PERMITS TO COMPLETE THE WORK. 7.ALL CULVERTS AND DRAINAGE DITCHES AFFECTED BY CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE RESTORED TO ORIGINAL CONDITION, UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED ON PLANS. 8.ALL STREET & TRAFFIC SIGNS THAT INTERFERE WITH CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE REMOVED & RESET BY CONTRACTOR. 9.TOPSOIL & SEED ALL NON-TURF AREAS AND SOD ALL TURF AREAS DISTURBED BY CONSTRUCTION. 10.CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE ANY OBSTACLE (FENCES, CONCRETE SLABS, ETC.) THAT INTERFERE WITH CONSTRUCTION UPON APPROVAL OF THE PROJECT ENGINEER. 11.ALL CONSTRUCTION SHALL CONFORM TO MONTANA PUBLIC WORKS STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS (MPWSS), LATEST EDITION AND THE FOLLOWING CITY OF KALISPELL SPECIAL PROVISIONS SECTIONS (02660 - WATER DISTRIBUTION, 02720 - STORM DRAIN SYSTEMS, AND 02730 - SANITARY SEWER COLLECTION SYSTEMS). 12.SEE LANDSCAPE PLANS FOR ALL IRRIGATION SLEEVING, PIPING, AND LAYOUT. 13.SEE ELECTRICAL/COMMUNICATION PLANS FOR VAULT, CONDUIT, AND ROUTING INFORMATION. 14.HYDROSTATIC LEAKAGE TESTING SHALL BE PERFORMED PER MPWSS SECTION 02660-3.4. PERFORM HYDROSTATIC AND LEAKAGE TESTING IN ACCORDANCE WITH AWWA C600. ONCE THE PIPE IS LAID AND BACKFILLED, TEST FOR AT LEAST 2 HOURS, ALL NEWLY LAID PIPE, OR ANY VALVED SECTION, TO A HYDROSTATIC PRESSURE OF AT LEAST 1.5 TIMES THE NORMAL OPERATING PRESSURE AT THE TEST POINT OR 1.25 TIMES THE NORMAL OPERATING PRESSURE AT THE HIGHEST POINT ALONG THE TEST SECTION. 15.ALL WORK SHALL BE PERFORMED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE "DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION STANDARDS" OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL, AND SHALL BE COMPLETED TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS. IN THE EVENT THAT A DESIGN ELEMENT DOES NOT REFLECT CITY STANDARDS, THE MATTER MUST BE IMMEDIATELY BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE ENGINEER AND THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS. THE ENGINEER SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR RECOMMENDING A SOLUTION OR ALTERNATIVE SOLUTIONS TO THE CITY FOR REVIEW AND APPROVAL. 16.THESE PLANS HAVE BEEN CHECKED BY THE CITY OF KALISPELL ONLY FOR CONFORMANCE WITH THE "DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION STANDARDS," COMPLIANCE WITH DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT CONDITIONS, AND FOR GENERAL CONCEPTUAL APPROVAL OF PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS AS SHOWN. ONCE LOCATED IT SHALL BE THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO MAINTAIN MARKINGS. 18.BEFORE WORK BEGINS, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN A PERMIT TO WORK IN THE RIGHT OF-WAY FROM THE CITY AND MUST NOTIFY THE CITY RIGHT-OF-WAY INSPECTION STAFF AT LEAST 48 HOURS IN ADVANCE OF COMMENCING CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES. 19.THE CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN AND MAINTAIN A COMPLETE AND APPROVED SET OF CONSTRUCTION PLANS. THESE DRAWINGS, AND ANY REQUIRED PERMITS, SHALL BE AVAILABLE AT THE PROJECT SITE AT ALL TIMES AND SHALL BE MADE AVAILABLE TO THE CITY STAFF UPON REQUEST. IF CONSTRUCTION PLANS ARE NOT READILY AVAILABLE AT THE PROJECT SITE, THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS MAY ISSUE A STOP WORK ORDER AND HALT ALL CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES PENDING COMPLIANCE BY THE CONTRACTOR. 20.THE CONTRACTOR AGREES TO COMPLY WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THE TRAFFIC CONTROL PLAN AND THE "MANUAL ON UNIFORM TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES," PART IV, FOR CONSTRUCTION SIGNAGE AND TRAFFIC CONTROL. 21.ALL SURPLUS MATERIALS, TOOLS, AND TEMPORARY STRUCTURES, FURNISHED BY THE CONTRACTOR, SHALL BE REMOVED FROM THE PROJECT SITE BY THE CONTRACTOR.
