Dear Ms. Kellogg,
Thank you for reaching out and for your thoughtful feedback regarding the Flathead County
Emergency Alert System (Genasys).
Following the recent wind event, we identified a programming issue on the vendor's side that
prevented some weather alerts from being delivered as intended. This issue was confirmed this
morning and has been addressed.
Genasys is intentionally reserved for true countywide emergencies requiring immediate public action.
That said, users can adjust settings within their Genasys profile to receive additional weather-related
alerts generated by weather services.
For events that do not meet the countywide emergency threshold, we routinely share updates through
Facebook, traditional media, and other public information channels.
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and value your feedback as we continue to improve
our emergency notification systems.
