Subject: EXTERNAL New City Manager
Prior to making my comments I want to insure you,who read this, I am more than qualified to make
them.
I have 30 plus years experience working in government. I have worked in municipal, County,
Special Districts as well as liaison with State and Federal Governments relative to legislation
development and implementation. I have over 25 years in management or department head
positions.
I have lived in Kalispell for eight years and have watched it change and grow. Nothing I have not
seen or experienced during my career.
From what I have observed over the past 8 years here I highly recommend that someone be hired
from the outside who will bring new and innovative ideas to our city. Degrees and memberships are
only windows dressing.They are a dime a dozen and does not guarantee the experience and
competence needed to insure Kalispell develops as a city planning for the future and not reacting
to current and future demands and needs.We don't need someone who is a place holder with no
knowledge of what is to come or needed for a growing city.We do not need someone who will just
continue in the manner of their predecessor. We need a visionary with proven experience to guide
and direct those who will be held accountable for what Kalispell is and will become.
