Housing Public Comment from anonymous Aimee Brunckhorst From: Red <mymontana.newyork@gmail.com> Sent: Tuesday, October 28, 2025 11:18 AM To: Kalispell Meetings Public Comment Subject: EXTERNAL Good Morning, I read a letter to the editor in today's newspaper that was submitted by one of the council members. It was about his idea to promote alternatives to housing opportunities in the valley. What he is suggesting is nothing new and nothing that hasn't been going on for years. There are and have been rooms for rent, house and apartment sharing available and regularly advertised. The letter seems to state that he has just had this idea! What we need to do as a city and county is to stop the building of these subdivisions until the infrastructure has caught up. The developers need to be paying for additional law enforcement, fire fighters, schools and other necessities that are stressed by their developments. Does anyone know or keep track of the subdivisions/apartments that have been approved but not yet built, the ones that have been built but not sold out, the number of houses/apartments that are sitting vacant? Before more are approved, I'd suggest those numbers be available. Also, the apartments that were approved and now occupied off Meridian and have an entrance/exit dumping onto a small court of residential houses off Underhill Court is causing problems to those homeowners. The racing and nightly walk abouts by some of the apartment dwellers who are yelling and otherwise disturbing the peace of a once serene neighborhood is becoming dangerous. Didn't any of you go to the site and observe that having that opening onto a small loop road is ridiculous and unneces Property values due to that congestion and undesirable goings on are taking a toll. Not to mention that children in that loop are now put in jeopardy. There is no reason for that complex to empty onto Underhill Court. They can easily use Meridian. Please shut that off. Thank you, Kalispell resident
