Dear Members of the Kalispell City Council,
I am sending my comments to you today because I no longer drive at night and so will not be able to
attend the meeting in person.
All of the suggested improvements are fine but the most needed change is a barrier to allow only right
hand turns only from Oregon St. onto North Main. I have seen so many accidents on this corner including this
past week.
My parking lot has become a de facto left turn when cars get backed up because someone is trying to
make a left turn onto Main. This has a very real hazard in the parking lot for people walking to or from their
cars. I have witnessed many close calls and I did talk to the City this summer about putting something in so that
only right turns can be made. They told me that it has to be a joint review between the State and City because N.
Main (HWY 93) is a State responsibility and Oregon is a City responsibility.
Any suggestions or input as to what can be done would be most appreciated.
