SUBJECT: Public Safety Building Remodel Project
MEETING DATE: September 15, 2025
BACKGROUND: The police department recently went out to bid for the reconfiguration
of the police department area within the Public Safety Building after the expansion of
staffing made our facility no longer adequate for space needs. The evidence and
investigation divisions have been moved into the former Parks and Recreation building.
This latest project will reconfigure computer room space, locker room space, training
room and storage space and add an additional restroom. The remodel will utilize existing
police impact fees, and Downtown Tax Increment Financing (TIF) funds.
Two responsive bids were received September 3, 2025, from Camas Creek Construction
and Precision Builders with Precision Builders the lowest bidder.
ACTION REQUESTED: Award the bid for the Public Safety Building Remodel Project
to Precision Builders for $379,000.
FISCAL EFFECTS: The cost for this portion of the project is $379,000. $240,000 will
be paid for with police impact fees with the remaining $139,000 coming from the
Downtown TIF.
ALTERNATIVES: As suggested and approved by the City Council.
