Noise Concern Public Comment from Tatyana Mironova Aimee Brunckhorst From: Tat'yana Mironova <tatyana.mironov@gmail.com> Sent: Friday, September 26, 2025 12:40 PM To: Kalispell Meetings Public Comment Subject: EXTERNAL Noise Concern Hello, I would like to kindly address two noise concerns. I know that there are no restrictions per say or noise ordinance in the city of Kalispell currently but I'd like to bring up two issues, if I may. 1.The first one is St. Mathews Catholic Parish on the corner of 6th Street W and 1st ave W (Kalispell). The bell goes off every 15 minutes day and night. I understand everyone has a right to practice their faith, tradition, etc. but I was curious to see if the city council can request the bells to be turned off at night. Perhaps suggest quiet hours between 7:OOam and 10:00pm?And perhaps a ring every hour instead of every 15 minutes? I have tried calling and leaving messages directly but my calls were not returned/ignored. One time I was able to get someone on the phone but was told that there is nothing that can be done which I don't agree with and it is surely not a positive response from an establishment that does so much good for the community in other ways. We live in a busy world where we are pulled in a million directions with schedules and deadlines and our homes should be our sanctuaries where we can rest and recover. It would be amazing not to be reminded of time every 15 minutes. At night I wake up because the bells wake me up and I am no longer getting the quality sleep I need. If my home made a loud sound every 15 minutes 24/7, 1 suspect that someone would complain about it and I would feel terrible about affecting someone else's peace. 2.The second noise issue is the car racing/cruising that happens every Friday evening on main street/highway 93 running through downtown. Is there a possibility that it can be stopped or moved to someplace safer and out of the town?Again, at the end of the work week, the noise of loud cars racing goes on for several hours. The concern about accidents (since the cars go well past the speed limit) makes it unsafe for everyone. The concern about accidents, both fatal and not, has been brought up and what to do to make this community and neighborhood safer and yet the car cruising continues. it is unsafe and disrespectful to the people living around downtown. It affects the general vibe of the city as well. If there is any way that these two can be addressed, I would greatly appreciate it.Thank you for your time. Tatya na— i
