RE: Lewistown registration arrived today
Bailey:
I agree with you and our by-laws state that if a jurisdiction controls
several airports, it is their decision how many they register with the
Association. It is important that they have at least one airport
registered so any important information put out gets to all their
airports. One registration, one vote, three registrations, three votes.
It is more important for them to identify the person who is to get the
information and also speaks for all their airports. I do not know the
Hinsdate Airport manager, but I can surely call him and see if he is
interested in being the northern representative for the association. I
have not heard back from Tony Bean (West Yellowstone) yet. I will let
you know if the Hindsdale guy bits.

Hello Fred,
I have started the confirmation list. You are now a director for the
MTCAA, Craig Canfield has agreed to serve also and Jerry Moline LWT has
also agreed to serve so I quit there for a moment so we could adjust
for geography and representation on the remaining possible members.
Craig suggested a fellow that would be in the Northern portion at
Hinsdale, name is Dean Jensen. I don't know this fellow so can't speak
to his qualifications. His airport would be under the Glasgow
Commissioners.
Fred I'm thinking of sending out a brief E-mail to my airport sponsor
list to let them know that we are not expecting sponsors that have more
than one airport in their ownership to necessarily sign all of them up.
It would be their option to inform all their airports of the material
we send out if they decide to register only their primary airport. My
county decided to sign up each one just so the mailings would be going
to both of them. The $ 50 bucks each was no issue but I think it was
bothering a few others.
If you have time to check our long list and see what calls you think I
should make to try to fill the remaining list. I don't think it is
going to be much of a problem!
Best Regards,
Bailey

Bailey:
I sent you a message last night from home with some ideas.
After you look at that, we can talk further. I like your list, but look
at spreading the Directors around the State more so we can later tap
them to solicit membership in their areas. I like the names that are
coming up. I have not confirmed any of the names on the list I sent you
except you and me. When we have 7 confirmed, good people, we will be
ready to do the organizational meeting. We can talk about inviting
people to the organizational meeting that are not interested in being a
director also. I always say "one head is better than two, even though
one is a cabbage head". You could query Fred Lark in Lewistown, but if
we have Moline on board, we don't need another Lewistown Representative
on the Board. He is surely welcome into the association as an Associate
Member anyway.

Fred that is good news! They were the only one that returned a
negative reply from their county commissioners. They asked to be
removed from our E-list. I checked the lady out that made the request
and it was the clerk. I think she may have been aggravated over the
fact that we were sending the notice to every airport and they have abt
4 small airports in their County. That does begin to over whelm the
mail account with the repeat of the same message. Good news anyway.
How about making a list of possible directors now so we don't
double on requesting any that might serve. I'm open to any suggestions
or deletions here. Would like to also include any managers that have
been active in the past even if they have not signed up yet. I can then
contact them and see if they are going to join and if they would serve
if they do sign up.
Possible Director List
Bailey Egan-- Past President
Fred Leistiko Kalispell City
John Smith Laurel
Craig Canfield KLJ
Jerry Moline LWT
Jim Novak Anaconda
Maybe Doug Parrott or Kelly Gebhardt Roundup Doug is getting
up in years and it may be hard for him to travel but he might suggest
their new manager there as Kelly Gebhardt that was also a past County
Commissioner and owns the local sawmill. Has flown and give flight
instruction for years.
I don't know Jim Kovak very well but he always comes,
participates and when he does say something it is usually well worth
listening to.
Fred if you would like to add or remove any from the list please
feel free to do so. I will then contact the agreed upon list and see
how many will serve.

Thanks, I talked with Dillon over the weekend and they
are very supportive and will attend meetings we have, but they have to
go to the County to see if they will fund membership.
