RE: council meeting
Scott:
After the newspaper article came out the Quiet Skies group had it in
their minds that the airport issue was dead. So they came out in force
last night to protest that fact that the Council was thinking about
going forward with a grant from the FAA to review everything again.
They got a little nasty except for Echels, who said that they really
like the airport manager, they just have to find something else for him
to do besides the airport. Tim Wise got up and said he won't sell to
the City. From what I can determine, Tim owns the property across the
creek, his brother Randy Wise owns the property at the end of the
airport.
We should be taking the grant application before council at the July 6th
meeting or the July 19th meeting. I am confident that they will accept
the $100,000 grant. Quiet Skies say it is a waste of taxpayer's money
to do the study and will be out in force to oppose it. It wouldn't
hurt to have some pro-airport people to step to the plate to promote the
grant.
