Police Officer Confirmation of Officer Josh Welchons, Officer
Jonah Quinn and Officer Troy Haworth
MEETING DATE: August 18, 2025
BACKGROUND: Police Officers Josh Welchons, Troy Haworth and Jonah Quinn have
all met the requirements to be confirmed as police officers in the city of Kalispell.
Officers Welchons and Haworth both attended the Montana Law Enforcement Academy,
passed the Kalispell Police Department Field Training Officer (FTO) program and have
successfully completed the one-year probationary period as required. Both were brand new
to law enforcement but have shown the dedication and character traits required to have a
long career. Officer Quinn joined KPD from the Stockton Police Department in California,
where he served for 5 years. He is a United States Marine Corp veteran and returned to
Montana where he has childhood roots. He attended the Lateral Academy in Helena,
KPD's Lateral FTO program, and has successfully completed the one-year probationary
period.
All three officers have proven to be valuable teammates and we are proud to have them
serving in our department.
RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the Council confirm Officers Jonah
Quinn, Troy Haworth and Josh Welchons as Police Officers with the Kalispell Police
Department.
