Re: August Meeting scheduleFine Business Fred,
If the agenda looks a bit full we sure can add the website business
until another time, a short discussion about what direction we want to
go will be adequate. I got a confirmation at the beginning of the
website project that we could have all the pass words etc if we decided
to go a different direction sometime. It appears to be a at that point
now but that was only a verbal agreement with David Ketchum so I'm
guessing we will need to take full control or remove ourselves from this
site and start new. FYI the MTCAA name which is also a bit misleading
was chosen for the organization because the MCAA was not available at
that time for the website. Maybe there is a way around this!
FYI also when I applied for the tax ID on line it was fairly simple
and quick but I could not make the application with my personal
information. They required another person so John Smith from Laurel
agreed to be the other person with his address etc. I have all the
communications of the agreement and will bring them to Helena or fax
them if you or our wife would like to see what transpired sooner.
Everything else looks good. I hope the Directors have a few good
suggestions for Lewistown as I think this could be a very important
session for the new members to see what we are trying to do.
Best,
Bailey

Bailey:
I have been working on an agenda for the meeting that includes
all of these items, but maybe in a different sequence as we work out way
through the items to be covered in the meeting. It should go more like
this:
Director’s Selection by categories
Articles of Incorporation approval and filing status
Governance, By-Laws developed and approved
Banking, Financial Management and Budget adoption
Selection of Officers from new Directors
Website, Handouts and Brochures development
Lewistown Agenda and Membership meeting
This should be a very busy meeting, covering this much in 6
hours.

Hello Fred,
I Think it would be good if we could put together an agenda for
all the work that we would like to cover during the Helena meeting. I'm
not sure of all the things that have to be done but those items will
have to have priority. I'm including the Statement of Purpose which we
talked about some years back in Helena. I'm not suggesting that this is
what we need but it was what we have listed on the website so lets throw
that in with what you have listed so we can say that we considered it.
That brings to mind the website also. This joint project is just not
working with Washington State. We had hoped to try to show the
continuity between all the Community Airport Associations so that we
could speak with a stronger voice across the USA. I gave them $250.00
to set the thing up and register the domain plus what ever else it would
take to start building on it. The young webmaster is much like many
computer guru's and doesn't seem to have much interest in maintaining it
for us, they often just like to build them. I told him last April that
I was not satisfied with the arrangement. We sat down and agreed to a
plan of action which failed completely. I have sent him numerous items
to post and he has failed to do so. If we are going to do a website it
is going to have to be different than this! That was a bad call on my
part so we might want to consider what the over all plan might be for
that project in the future. I can fill the group in on the details.
Here are a few things that we might need on the agenda plus what you
have for us.
1. By-laws
2. Articles of incorporation
3. Statement of Purpose.
4. Tax I.D. and associated information along with finance
management policy. All money issues here!
5. List all things that will need to be addressed at Lewistown
with the General Membership.
6. Proposed ideas for agenda in LWT.
7. Website
8. Other Business
Here is the present statement of purpose.
The Montana Community Airport Association (MTCAA) is dedicated
to encouraging effective general aviation airport management through
education, networking, hosting of semi-annual conferences and improved
communications among airport sponsors, airport professionals and
airport-related government agencies.
Best Regards,
Bailey

Good call Fred, Jerry was the only one that requested
Great Falls and that was just his preference. Helena will be fine!

Just found out that the weekend we want to meet
is not a good weekend for accommodations in Great Falls, its fair week.
Let’s move it to Helena that weekend and I will look at accommodations
there.
