Subject: EXTERNAL Funding for Main Street Project
Since I am unable to attend the Monday night meeting, I wanted to give my input on the Main Street
Project Initiative. My biggest concern
is that I live on 5t" Ave W., and I am very worried that this project will push more traffic on the side streets.
Since my street is already a minor arterial, I believe this project will make it worse and do nothing to
alleviate already increasing traffic and speeding. Not to mention
the new mall renovations which will certainly bring increased traffic. I have already reached out to you
about the increased traffic, noise and speeding, as well as the Police Chief, but nothing has been done.
Another concern is that this money would be better spent fixing the 93-business corridor. Lack of turning
lanes, especially the left turn coming out of Best Buy, people using shoulders as turning lanes and does
anyone in Montana even know what a roundabout is? They certainly do not yield! Kalispell is not
Whitefish, please consider this. While I would love to see our Main Street revitalized, there are better
ways to utilize money at this time. Thanks for your time.
