Hello,
My husband and I are a resident of downtown Kalispell and have 3 young children.
Living in Kalispell is a dream — we can walk with our kids to the library, to get ice cream, and
they can ride their bikes on sidewalks knowing they are safe.
We would like to offer a note of support for the safe streets grant and downtown plan, as it
further supports a downtown that is even more family friendly. With young kids, having an
option to dine outdoors would be magical. Walking shopping and enjoying our historical town
would be even more enjoyable without the loud semi trucks using main st as a through street. I
can only imagine the fun things the town host downtown with wider sidewalks, a safer Main
Street, and less truck noise.
From a different angle, this would also positively impact the local economy, with more people
wanting to shop eat and stroll Main Street — both tourists and locals. Helping our small
businesses thrive and showcasing how Kalispell is not only a great place to live, vacation, and
work but also a great place to start a small business!
