Hi there, my name is Hayden Smith. I grew up in Kalispell but now live in a metropolitan city.As an urban
planning consultant here, I was excited when I saw the concept design you posted.
I have a few suggestions that you might find helpful. Have you considered adding bike lanes on the main
streets? I remember when I was in high school, I often felt unsafe riding in the road but also felt bad for
riding on the sidewalks.
Additionally, if it isn't already in place, I would suggest considering the formation of a regional safety
coalition and a safe routes to schools coalition. It could also be beneficial to conduct annual bicycle and
pedestrian counts at major intersections.
