Dear Mayor, City Council, and City Manager,
The morning of April 22 I called the police department to inform them of a camper that is parked on a city
boulevard that blocks the ability to see clearly at the intersection of 6th Ave W and 4th Street W. I was
informed by a police officer that it is parked on private property and there is nothing that can be done
about it. I truly believe this to be in error. This is a corner that I have discussed with others in the
neighborhood and we all agree that we've almost been in accidents due to not being able to see
oncoming traffic due to this camper.
We have also discussed how the city is ignoring a number of issues regarding parking of vehicles on
boulevards. I took it upon myself to search the code and send you the information below, which I believe
confirms this violation. This camper issue does need to be addressed because it blocks the view at the
intersection. We feel this is an accident waiting to happen, as we are so close to the high school where
stop signs are frequently ignored and speeding is commonplace.
Thank you for your consideration of this issue and I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Barbara Boorman
