0n5/11/2O25.at5:52AM, Kalispell Police Officers responded toamental health call at127Werner Peak Trail in
Kalispell. The caller, identified as Nicholas Olson -Hartley, made multiple concerning statements to dispatch before
disconnecting the call. KPID responded to the scene and initially could not contact anyone at the house. Officers
eventually observed evidence at the scene that caused them toforce entry into the home. Once inside, they
discovered Nicholas Olson -Hartley (33yom) and his wife Katie Olson -Hartley (27yof) dead from apparent gunshot
wounds. Further clearing of the residence led to the discovery of two children, one 6 years old and the other 7
months, also deceased from gunshot wounds. After collecting evidence throughout the day and interviewing
numerous people, we believe this tragic event to be the result of a murder suicide. |tappears Nicholas Olson -Hartley
took the lives ofhis young family before calling 911. After making the phone call todispatch, hetook his own life.
The Kalispell Police Department mourns with the family that issuffering from this senseless tragedy. KP[}ismaking
all resources available for our officers to ensure they can process this and move forward in a healthy way to continue
toserve the Kalispell community.
On 5/11/2025 at 5:52 AM, Kalispell Police officers responded to the area of Silverbrook Estates for a mental health
concern. Officers eventually entered a residence where they discovered four individuals deceased from apparent
gunshot wounds. Officers are beginning a lengthy investigation and there will be a police presence throughout the
day. KPID does not believe there is a continued risk to the public, the event appears isolated.
