Subject: EXTERNAL Widening Main Street...
Are you people out of your minds..??? As all of you well know, we have had a WHOLE TOWN move
here..!! Over 30,000 people..!!! Now that we have a traffic congestion problem, hense, the WIDENING of
the hiways and side roads,you want to "strangle" Main Street..???
I was working the other night in a delivery job and I came up onto Main. It was Friday evening. Anyone
of you been on Main after 6-7 p.m...??? When my light turned green, I didn't think I would be able to
cross..!! But, luckily, the two big trucks on Main separated so I could. I totally understand dragging Main
because I did it back in the day. But then we could get out at a red light for a Chinese Fire Drill, THATS
how many of us were on Main Street. But that has all changed and you people want to NARROW Main.As
for the businesses who want wider sidewalks, tough bisquit..!!! If I remember right, back in the '70's or
early'80's, there WERE tables out on the sidewalks and the 'trend' didn't last too long.. anyway,
narrowing Main Street is the most stupid idea to ever come up in recent history. You are making a HUGE
mistake if you think it will"solve" problems... we have, literally, exploded where traffic is concerned. I
don't know who's in "charge" at those city council meeting but whoever it is needs to back up and think
again. There are the HUGE issues about the 4-story buildings going up all over when we are SUPPOSED to
have a height limit but that's another bone to pick..
All of you need to start LISTENING to the people who voted you in..!!!
