1 would like to log my comments for this project in the city of Kalispell.
First I will say that I am one of the many, not so well liked, people that joined the influx of population from
another state.
My wife and I moved here in 2021 after we lost ourjobs for not taking the mandated shot in Oregon. We
could not endure anymore outlandish behavior from that state's government and majority population.
We moved to Kalispell because of the people. The people we encountered here when visiting while
looking for a new home were respectful and courteous and the state seemed to allow more freedoms
than where we were.
The town we lived in, in Oregon had a downtown Main Street that was just like what is being proposed. I
understand the notion of needing more area for tourist pedestrians, but I can assure you, it is not a
feasible plan for the city's population. The plan to increase sidewalk area and reduce vehicle traffic area
will cause many issues, the least of which will be very angry local drivers trying to go about their daily
routines. There will be more vehicle vs. pedestrian incidents and it will cause incredible delays in traffic.
Main Street being a major highway and thoroughfare will become a huge logjam nightmare.
I implore the city council and mayor to consider all issues, notjust any small benefit they think it will
create when voting for this proposal.
I highly disagree with this plan.
