BACKGROUND: The Chip Seal Project for the Year Ending December 31, 2025, consists of
furnishing materials, labor, and equipment required to chip seal City Streets. Chip Sealing is a
cost effective approach to extend the useful service life of roads and reduce maintenance costs.
BIDDING RESULTS: Bids were opened on April 8, 2025, at City Hall. One responsive bid was
received. The bid total is summarized as follows:

Pavement Maintenance Solutions $191,945.25
Pavement Maintenance Services has been determined to be a responsive and responsible contractor
successfully completing similar projects in Northwest Montana.
ACTION REQUESTED: Motion to award the Chip Seal Project for Year Ending December 3 1,
2025 to Pavement Maintenance Solutions with the execution of the total amount of the Base Bid
for $191,945.25.
FISCAL EFFECTS: The total project construction cost will be funded by the Gas Tax, Chip
Seal and Overlay Fund (2420-421-430240-368), which has a current balance of $492,837.
ALTERNATIVES: As suggested and approved by the City Council.
