Attendance: Chairman Granmo, Vice Chairman Nystul, Committee Members Furlong and
• Buck.
Others Present: S/W Supt. Van Dyke, Asst. S/W Supt. Allen.
HOSPITAL HOOKUP FEES Supt. Van Dyke explained to the committee that the hookup
fees have not been paid for the Rehabilitation Center and the Dietary Complex.
Basically, the hospital's point of view is that the water mains on their property
are considered service lines and thus hookup fees are not necessary.
C. Nystul moved the S/W Supt. Van Dyke work with the City Attorney and send a
letter to the Flathead Health Care to require the hookup fees, get approval of
water mains by WQB, etc. or install meters at the three main locations on
Sunnyview Drive and Conway. C. Granmo seconded the motion and the motion carried
in favor.
KALISPELL TRAINING FACILITIES The Committee discussed the agreement and asked the
Supt. to get Dennis Carver's estimated cost for the facility.
C. Nystul moved to accept the agreement but to revise the contract to be for an
initial ten year agreement and renewable in five year increments thereafter.
C. Furlong seconded the motion and the motion carried in favor.
PURDY REMICK S/W Supt. Van Dyke reviewed the project with the Committee and explained
the concept, funding, and reasons for proceeding to call for bids. Considerable
discussion followed.
C. Nystul moved to call for bids. C. Buck seconded the motion. Three members voted
for, one voted against, and the motion carried in favor.
HIGH PRESSURE ZONE: There was discussion on some of the needs in the high pressure
zone. C. Grano requested S/W Supt. Van Dyke to put together a package of what
specifically is needed, priorities, and estimated cost.
The next Sewer and Water Committee meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 24, 1990,
at 5:00 p.m.
