Minutes
Wednesday, October, 9, 2024, 4 - 5 p.m.
In attendance: Tree Board Members- Tony, Erin Stieber, Martin Rippens, Judy Rosenfeld-
Cox, Emma Merdovic, Special guest Maragrit, Staff- Alison M, Colter H

Approve Minutes:
• Review September minutes.
• Martin Approved, Judy Seconded
Current Business:
▪ Fall removal contact with Wisner. They will be removing 3 large
cottonwood from Lawerence Park
▪ 3 ave east white popular removal. next week there will be 10
cottonwoods on the schedule.
▪ Most of Thompson Memorial is finished, Northridge is finished. 50
trees have been pruned since last month.
▪ UF ordered a 40’ genie lift for small/medium size pruning. Hoping to
be here November.
▪ We had 2 storms in June that produced 3.5 chip trucks full of wood
chips. August storm produced 3 truckloads We are over 4 load with
this last storm and are not done.
▪ Eagle scout project is complete at Woodland park with QR codes that
tell you about each species of tree in the park.
▪ Gator Bags were talked about how that could be a good way to get
water to new trees. or we could pay a landscaping company to pay to
water them.
▪ Tony mentioned he likes container tree vs B&B.
▪ Tree Walk was discussed for maybe October next year at Woodland
Park. There was talk about doing a bike/mnt climber event as well.

Arbor Day 2025 :
• Location: Lawerence was decided. Reminder we need more signs in
the back.
• Still working on a theme. Some ideas
The Giving Tree, Branch Out, Think outside the Bark, Let’s Grow Together, Plant a
Cooler Future.
