o Arbor Day
▪ Kids-Erin
Erin has reached out Jessica wants to do a presentation during the ceremony. No
school has said they cannot attend. Still needs to reach out to high schools for
volunteers.
▪ Food-Tony
Tony has not priced out burgers and fixings but will have the number by the next
meeting. It was brought up that we will need all prep done before the event,
along with a hot plate. Tony has a turkey roaster he can bring. For help during
the event and with prep Barbara Boreman, Vic Anderson, Barb Anderson, and
Dave Jones were names mentioned to reach out to. Tony will also price out
sides, possibly fruit, and potato salad.
▪ Booths-April
April said 6 people have said YES. 2 TBD, 1 no. A few more names of possible
booths were given.
▪ Sponsors- Judy
The letter for sponsor looks good. All need to be folded and stuffed into
envelopes. Friday at 3 was selected as the date and time to accomplish this task.
▪ Volunteers- Martain
No update yet
▪ Media - Bette
Bigfork and interlake have commitment for coverage during the event. Radio
KGEZ interview is lined up.
▪ Outreach - Emma
Alison, Fred, and Emma met with Bias Brewery. They have committed to tree
trivia on Tuesday the week of Arbor Day. They will also be making a small keg
of beer that is Oak Porter that will come out Friday {the day of the event} After
party is also scheduled from 3-7. During trivia and after the party tree board can
have a booth and talk about Arbor Day. Tuesday trivia could be a good time to
get volunteers for planting trees. Bias is requesting we come up with marketing
for these things.
Emma will reach out to Sweet Peaks and wanted more direction on who else to
reach out to.
o Urban Forestry Day Camp
Fred has asked for help with Parks and Rec summer day camp as they will be
doing a whole forestry week this year. Multiple people seemed interested
depending on what week it is in the summer.
Pine coned bird feeders, Tree ID, bark rubs, leaf collections, bug collections, tree
scavenger hunt, tree planting, making paper, tree games, tree climbing with corn
dog. Were suggestions made.
o Arborist Update – Colter
▪ Fred said they have completed work on 400 trees in empire estates and
are moving to Northridge.
