Chamber of Commerce
1. Welcome- Members present: Diane Medler, Sue Corrigan, Diane Stout, Gary
Havens, Everit Sliter, Mark Schickendantz, Mary Pat Murphy, Natalie Robinson,
Chris Vick, Tia Robbin, Carrie Nelson, and Museum Director Brit Clark.
2. Consent Agenda -
a) .tune minutes- accepted. No meeting in July.
b) Treasurer's report-. Gary made motion to accept July financials. Mark
seconded.
3. Strategic Goals Action Plan 2023-24-
a) Financial Security- Room Sponsorships
• Discussed changing sponsorships to follow calendar year rather
than tour season to better align with fiscal year budgeting.
Sponsorships are short this year. Extra events will be targeted to
make up difference.
b) Moving the Museum into the Future- Wheel chair lift/
accessibility improvements
• Discussed the Great Fish Community Challenge to raise funds for
non-invasive wheelchair ramp and make tour materials available on
tablet form. Volunteers for pop-up stations are looking good.
Donations at start are similar to last year. $23,000 is the goal.

c) Expand Museum Programming- Short Video documentary
• The Mansion has obtained bids to create a high -quality short
documentary that visitors can watch on a tablet. (15-20 min.) A
$3,000 deposit is needed by agreement signing date in order to
start filming in October. Chris made a motion to make deposit with
film maker Big Creek Media in order to get on schedule. Everit
seconded. The Mansion will have rights to the video. Diane Medler
advised to make sure that Mansion staff and board are happy with
the video proof before it gets too close to the finished product.
d) Expand Museum Programming- Locals Day
• Mansion is partnering with Hockaday and NWMT Historical Society
again this year for Locals Day on Sept. 14t" from 10;00-4:00.
Discounted tours and special activities are intended to empower the
locals, not just tourists and share information on how local non-
profit museums operate. Volunteers needed.
4. Committee Reports -
a) Maintenance- Electrical (Gary)-

• Updated wiring and improvements for main feed coming into the
house are needed. Current main feed is a dangerous situation.
Mansion is looking for grants. Brit will get bids.
b) Collections -Furniture donation & Insurance (Carrie and Gary)-
• Family who purchased a Conrad bedroom set (bed and dresser)
from a family auction in the 1960's would like to donate it back to
the Mansion. Mansion staff and the collections committee are in
favor of acquiring this set. Set is currently in Texas. Family is willing
to help with shipping.
• Collection committee meetings will meet monthly to cover
inventory, insurance, preservation related items. New committee
members are welcome. Updated furnishing appraisal needed for
insurance value. Need an updated furnishing appraisal for collection
insurance value.
Executive Director's report (Brit)- See submitted monthly written report.
Other Business- Cindy Connor will be retiring from the Mansion at the end of
the year. Chris offered to donate a $1,000 bonus for Cindy if the board agreed to
cover the taxes. Everit moved to accept Chris's offer. Gary seconded.
