Chamber of Commerce
1. Welcome- Members present: Diane Stout, Diane Medler, Susanne Wigginton,
Mark Schickendantz, Chris Vick, Gary Havens, Gail Erickson, Natalie Robinson,
Mary Pat Murphy, Carrie Nelson and Museum Director Brit Clark.
2. Consent Agenda -
a) September minutes accepted with a spelling correction.
b) Treasurer's report- Mark reviewed financials. Chris moved to accept
report, Gary seconded. All in favor.
3. Committee Reports
a) New Building committee- (Susanne) Committee met with Ned at
Jackola Architects. The mansion will pay retainer fee and will be invoiced
after each of the three phases. Interior drawings will be next and will get
board approval before final renderings.
b) Collections committee- Shipment of an original Conrad family bedroom
set is expected to arrive soon.
c) Budget committee- Committee will be working on the 2025 budget
before year end. A proposal for staff bonuses will be presented for year
end. Chris Vick stated that he would like to provide a $1,000 bonus for
Cindy upon her retirement. This would be an addition to regular season
bonus.
4. Executive Director's Report- See submitted monthly report.
a) Great Fish Challenge- Award Ceremony will be held Oct 22na
b) Mansion short documentary- Big Cedar Media filmed at the Mansion
for a short documentary. It went well.
c) Tour Season- Today is the final day of the regular 2024 tour season.
Tour numbers were good. Sharon Pearson's unexpected passing made an
impact on staff. Next summer, scheduling will focus on having fewer
scattered schedules.
d) Updates on recent and upcoming events- Love Letters play by the
Gypsy Theatre Guild had a small turnout but met minimum requirements
to pay royalties. Ghost tour tickets are sold out. December will have a full
season including the Christmas Carol Radio Broadcast, choir concerts,
tours and teas. Staff/Board holiday party will be Dec. 17t". Gail Erickson
will organize and Chris Vick is generously providing the catering again this
year.
