The proposed unit will be tested and certified by Underwriter's Laboratories (UL) to meet NFPA 1901. The proposed unit is priced and will be built to the KME proposal specifications to meet the intent of the fire departments specifications. All system designs, dimensions and performances will be as stated in the KME proposal. 1. Page 71, Pump & Roll Option Due to the EZ Track 4x4 option, combined with the PRO series pump/plumbing system, we are unable to option a PTO driven auxiliary pumping unit per your specifications. However, we are proposing an auxiliary diesel power pumping unit utilizing the same pump that you specified in your option. This unit will provide superior pump and roll performance. 2. Page 74/77, Master Inlet Valves Your specifications call for electric valves in the 6" master suction inlets as well as intake ball valves on each suction. After speaking with Chief Pearce, I was directed to supply the removable intake ball valves per your specifications and not the inline electric controlled valves. 3. Pages 92-94, Crosslays KME will refer to these as speedlays on the PRO series pumper. The plumbing on these discharges currently terminate in a chicksan swivel. After conversations with Chief Pearce, I believe that you desired the discharges to be plumbed hard through the body. This detail can be worked out at the pre -construction conference if KME is the successful bidder. 4. Pages 102-103, Compartments There are some discrepancies in the compartment dimensions. And descriptions of compartments. KME feels that we have met the intent of what you are looking for. Final design will be agreed upon at the pre -construction conference. 5. Page 108, Access Ladder Due to the design of this particular body/hose bed configuration, it does not lend itself well to a hose bed access ladder. We have included folding steps for access to the hose bed. However, at the pre -construction conference if together we can come up with a workable design, it can be added. 6. Page 111, Backboard Storage Due to space available, one (1) backboard will be stored in the ladder storage compartment and one (1) will be stored on the hose bed cover. 7. Page 119, Chassis Frame The chassis frame assembly will have a 20-year warranty. 0: 509-453-6527 1 1-800-572-3939 1 F: 509-457-2890 1 123 South Front Street, Yakima, WA 98901 KME K O V A T C KME FIRE APPARATUS 1500-gpm/780-gallon PRO Series Pumper BID PROPOSAL FOR: Kalispell Fire Department BID OPTIONS 1.
