Is the City of Kalispell looking for a Cloud -based phone system solution with local resilient failover hardware (hybrid Cloud)? Or phone solution software hosted in a City of Kalispell datacenter with resilient hardware installed in connected building IDFs? - RFP Section 3.3.6 asks proposers to detail the design being proposed. 2. How many data center locations will be used for termination of new voice services? - The expectation is the proposer will provide the recommended design. 3. How many concurrent call paths will be needed for the phone system solution across the entire city? - The number of DIDs and quantity of phones were provided in RFP Exhibit A. The expectation is the proposer has the expertise to determine what should be included. 4. Inbound and outbound traffic are documented as split across ISP providers at the Public Safety Building- will all voice traffic traverse a single path to/from the internet? - Yes. 5. QoS is noted as 'not setup' at all sites; Is the network equipment at each site capable of providing QoS? - Yes. 6. Are wireless phone devices going to be portable (i.e. cordless handsets) or WiFi desk phone sets? - Wireless phones will be portable phones. 7. Will PoE be installed at the City Shop Complex prior to phone system implementation? Or will PoE / power injectors need to be provided? Note: Other sites without PoE are requesting analog devices only; an analog gateway(s) will be installed at each site needing analog phone service - Current switchports at the City Shop Complex do not supply PoE and will not be replaced prior to the project. 8. Where are the phones for 'Municipal Court & Attorneys' located? QoS & PoE available? - Municipal Court and Attorneys are located at the Public Safety Building. - QoS & PoE are available. QoS is not setup/configured. 9. What is required for phones that need survivability options? Calls that ring to a cell phone and/or offsite phone/softphone? - Review section 3.3.6 in the RFP and Mandatory Functionality in RFP Exhibit A for specifications. Question: What implementation are you looking for? Response: Referred to the RFP regarding implementation, the City staff project members, and requested on -site number of days post launch. Unified Communications as a Service Request for Proposals Addendum #1: Questions and Responses The following questions and subsequent responses were answered and posted on May 8, 2023, and are hereby included in the RFP. The response requirements state that the RFP response will not exceed 15 pages excluding resumes, table of contents, and section dividers. We would like to request that the solution diagram(s) and organization chart also be excluded from the 15-page count for the response. o Yes, the solution diagram(s) and organization chart can be excluded from the 15-page count for the response. For telephone positions defined as "Basic Analog" or "Basic Analog Wall (Mount)", please confirm it is the City's intent to replace the current analog phones or re -use the existing phones. o The existing phones will be reused. o At the City Shops, two analog basic wireless phones have four wireless handsets each. 3. How many of the analog phones need to be "hardened" or "industrial" devices? For example, phones in jail settings, or public safety settings where vandalization may be a concern. o At City Shops, one industrial analog basic wall mount phone is needed.
