11-19-24 Business Improvement District Minutes 2017—2027 KALISPELL BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT BOARD MEETING MINUTES Meeting date: November 19, 2024 Location: First Interstate Bank Building 2nd Floor Board Room 2 S. Main Street Kalispell, MT 59901 Board members present: Kisa Davison, Cara Lemire, George Giavasis, Gabe Mariman, Jon Fetveit, and Jamie Keller, Executive Director Board members absent: Nihcole Petersen & Marshall Noice Public in Attendance: Nelson Loring Call to Order: 8:33am Kisa Davison Minutes and Agenda: • Review and Approval Motion:A motion to approve was made by Cara Lemire and second by George Giavasis. Motion passed unanimously. Financial Review: • Review and Approval Motion: A motion to approve was made by Jon Fetveit and second by George Giavasis. Motion passed unanimously. Coordinator Report: • Jamie Keller presented her report for the month of November 2024 and pointed out several points of interest to follow up on progress for FY24/25 Workplans and noted highlights of the Montana Main Street Annual Confrence. Facade Improvement Grants: • No new applications at this time Branding& Marketing: • George Giavasis noted social media password process with little progress at this time. • Jamie Keller noted website repairs update and progress Downtown Ambassador: • The board requested that Jamie Keller begin the hiring process for the ambassador role for 2025. Downtown Flowers: • No update at this time Downtown Events &Sponsorships: • Jamie Keller noted the upcoming KDA events of the Holiday Stroll on December 6t"° Frosty the Brew Fest 2025. Chamber of Commerce: • Loraine Clarno noted the upcoming Chamber Luncheon with Logan Health, the 2025 Legislative Session, and Business Days Event in January of 2025. Safe Streets for All&City Update: • Nelson Loring noted a meeting with Montana Department of Transportation last week and the city of Kalispell is moving forward with phase 2 of the design plan. Holiday Lights & Decor • Jamie Keller noted current conditions and concerns with holiday decorations and lights for the Depot Park tree while working with Richard Dilka to install holiday decor. o A majority of the board noted the hope of finding funding to purchase additional tree lights, more lighted garland, and white snowflakes for downtown light poles. Motion:A motion to approve up to $2,000.00 to purchase additional lights and decor was presented first by Kisa Davison and seconded by George Giavasis. Passed unanimously. TIF Application Update: • The board discussed the TIF program in general and noted potential positive outcomes for Kalispell.
