Police Officer Confirmation of Officer Jay Gillhouse, Officer Cole
Gasner and Officer Michael Stuhler
MEETING DATE: November 18, 2024
BACKGROUND: Police Officers' Jay Gillhouse, Cole Gasner and Michael Stuhler have
each completed the 1 year probationary period at the Kalispell Police Department. Each
of these officers have been an asset to Kalispell PD, exceeding expectations and serving
our Kalispell community with pride and professionalism.
Officer Gillhouse, a US Coast Guard Veteran, came to KPD with 14 years law enforcement
experience, most recently with the Missoula Police Department. He has brought great
insight to many challenges our community is facing and is always eager to engage with our
community.
Officer Gasner and Officer Stuhler are also both military veterans. Officer Gasner was
hired fresh out of the US Army, while Officer Stuhler continues to serve in the Army
National Guard. Both Stuhler and Gasner are quiet, quick learners with great work ethic.
We are lucky to have these three as Kalispell Police Officers.
RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the Council confirm Officer Jay
Gillhouse, Officer Cole Gasner, and Officer Michael Stuhler as Police Officers with the
Kalispell Police Department.
