City Council Members
As long-time Flathead County residents, homeowners, and taxpayers we are writing one more time to
express our concern and objections to the proposed Tronstad Meadows Whitetail Crossing subdivision
proposal. We have attended every meeting but have not taken your time to speak and only repeat what
many of the other people have already said. We are opposed to such an extreme proposal for the 110
acres directly south of us.We are the northern boundary of the development. It was encouraging to us
when the first round was voted down due to density concerns. Coming back with a proposal that cut the
number of lots by 25, adding a walking path and saving the trees was an insult.
Driving around Flathead Valley is eye opening for anyone looking for a place to live. There are an
abundant number of developments that are currently being built, many that are completed, and land
prep for developments yet to be started. Affordable housing is happening. We believe at some point this
valley will be over developed and the city will be dealing with issues to accommodate the new
developments. This is a concern.
Our concerns regarding the Tronstad Meadows and Whitetail Crossing remain the same: safety, traffic,
infrastructure to handle increased traffic, addressing Highway 93 and Whitefish Stage Rd increased
traffic and accesses, and the manpower to handle city services. We feel there are good reasons to put
this specific development on hold until some of the issues and concerns are addressed and resolved.
While we know development is inevitable, we believe this proposal is not the right one. It is our hope that
you will consider the input you have been received from the legal and professional people and make a
decision that is best for the Flathead Valley.
Thank you for your time and consideration of this proposed development and the implications and
impact it will have on this valley.
Respectfully submitted,
