VOTE NO - Tronstad Meadows & Whitetail Crossing Public Comment from Kristiine Hursh Aimee Brunckhorst From: Kristine Hursh <ckhursh@gmail.com> Sent: Sunday, November 3, 2024 11:55 PM To: Kalispell Meetings Public Comment Subject: EXTERNAL VOTE NO - Tronstad Meadows &Whitetail Crossing Kalispell Mayor & City Councilors, My husband and I have lived at 210 Tronstad Road for almost 25 years. We are opposed to the latest submission of Tronstad Meadows & Whitetail Crossing. Tronstad is a narrow county road that can not safely operate with 700+ cars, 3348 additional vehicle trips per day added to our road. People end up in the ditches every winter and the road drifts badly. It is estimated that 866 people will be living in the development -that's larger than Martin City, Coram, and Kila - that's all on 110 acres. We have been sending public comment and attending city planning and council meetings on this matter since April. It feels like this newest submission from the developers, 355 houses, is preferred by the planners, even though the safety concerns with Tronstad still exist and the added density is very concerning. We would ask that if the council is going to approve this latest plan - PLEASE add the condition that a traffic light go in with phase one. At the close of our part of the last city planning meeting on October 8, one of the planners told us, "the sky isn't falling - it will take years to sell and build out the lots. You won't wake up tomorrow and have 355 new houses in your back yards..." That may be, but we will have years and years of added traffic, torn up roads and added safety concerns. Our quality of life will be affected long term. It is easy for him to say that, he doesn't live here or drive on our unsafe road. Please consider opposing this high density development at this time. Thank you for your consideration. Kristine Hursh i
