Tronstad Development Public Comment from Nancy Ivy Aimee Brunckhorst From: Nancy Ivy <nivy77mt@gmail.com> Sent: Sunday, November 3, 2024 3:42 PM To: Kalispell Meetings Public Comment Subject: EXTERNAL Tronstad Development I want to voice my opposition to the proposed Tronstad "over" development. 350+ houses packed into the space available simply does not fit with the existing neighborhood. I realize development of the area is inevitable, but it could at least resemble the homes west and adjacent to it. However, my greatest concern would be for safety. Tronstad as it presently exists is dangerous to navigate in rain and snow now, without the added traffic that would come with 350 additional households! It's unfathomable!! I live north of and adjacent to Ponderosa Estates and must travel Whitefish Stage, Trondstad and Sirucek to travel to and from Easthaven Church. I was returning home this past Thursday at noon, with the roads covered by new snow. Tronstad was challenging with the slick conditions, plus the 3 rises, where you can't see oncoming traffic, and the narrowness of the road with steep banks! The added traffic of the 350+ households came to mind, needless to say! A light is needed at 93 so people can turn both north and south. Otherwise all the southbound traffic off of Tronstad will funnel through Whitefish Stage. I've seen dangerous narrow misses at Whitefish Stage and Rose Crossing. With traffic backed up on both sides of Whitefish Stage, people are starting to dart across. I'm afraid as I approach this intersection and have to slow down out of the natural urge for defensive driving! A light is needed here now, irrelevant of the Tronstad development! If this Tronstad development is allowed prior to any infrastructure improvement, we will never see it done until lives are lost. Please don't approve this development. Thankyou!
