September 4 council letter Public Comment from Brenda Oberlitner September 4, 2024 Dear Kalispell City Major and Council/Planning Commission, I am Brenda Oberlitner, residing at 36 Wintercrest Ridge, Kalispell Montana, directly north of proposed development of 355 housing project known as Tronstad Meadows and Whitetail Crossing. Prior application of Tronstad Meadows and Whitetail Crossing project of 380 homes was denied by Kalispell City Council June 17,2024.Traffic safety concerns surrounding the high density that the development would bring to U.S Highway 93 and Whitefish Stage Road was the number one reason for denial of this development/application. Councilman Jed Fisher Quoted "We are truly putting the size of the town of Eureka or Browning on this section of land with roads that suck." "There are just too many safety issues." I am opposed to this application by CAE Properties& Frank Garner and MT Seven Properties in its entirety for the following reasons. A reduction of 25 homes has no beneficial impact on the traffic safety concerns previously brought forth. Montana Department of Transportation intentions are not aligned with the applicants promises, as the property purchase needed to execute a traffic signal at Tronstad Road and U.S Highway 93 aligning with Silverbrook Estates has not been acquired. Applicant does not address any improvements to intersection of Tronstad Road and Whitefish Stage. Applicant promises sidewalks on Tronstad Road which go to no other connecting sidewalks, sidewalks do not exist anywhere near this development except 150 feet of sidewalk in front of Quail Meadows which also connects to no other sidewalks. Applicant/application and development does not: Lesson congestion and provide safe access Prevent overcrowding of land Avoid undue concentration of population Promote public interest, health, comfort, convenience and safety Have good access to a road network Encourage most appropriate use of land by assuring orderly growth Please vote no to application put before you by CAE Properties& Frank Garner and MT Seven Properties. Thank you, Brenda Oberlitner
