Tronstad Meadows Petition from Sandy Muller, Residents of Koenig SubdivisionKoenig Subdivision Homeowners Petition Against Tronstad Road Improvements and Condition #19 in the Tronstad Meadows Whitetail Crossing Application To: Kalispell City Council and Local Government Officials We, the undersigned residents of the Koenig Subdivision, are united in expressing our strong opposition to any proposed improvements to Tronstad Road in front of our subdivision, as well as Condition #19 in the current application. While we support necessary infrastructure enhancements for public safety and traffic management, we have serious concerns regarding the long-term implications of these proposed changes. Our primary concerns center around the potential for annexation into the City of Kalispell, which would fundamentally alter the character of our neighborhood, as well as the inadequacies and piecemeal nature of the proposed improvements. We oppose these developments for the following reasons: 1. Condition #19 and Lack of Comprehensive Improvements: The current application for Meadows Whitetail Crossing includes Condition #19, which mandates improvements to Tronstad Road only in front of our subdivision. However, the developers have not offered to improve any other sections of Tronstad Road. This means that the majority of Tronstad Road will remain largely unimproved, leaving the road inadequate to handle the increased traffic and development. Improving only one section of the road is not a sufficient solution and creates safety concerns for the entire community. 2. Increased Property Taxes: Annexation into the City of Kalispell would result in significantly higher property taxes for all residents, imposing a financial burden on many households. 3. Traffic and Safety Concerns: Without improvements to the full length of Tronstad Road, any partial upgrades —especially in front of our subdivision —would likely increase traffic flow and safety hazards, including the danger posed by heavy construction vehicles. These concerns are magnified by the fact that most of the road will remain in poor condition, making it unable to accommodate the demands of increased traffic.. We respectfully request that Condition #19 be removed from the Tronstad Meadows Whitetail Crossing application and that no improvements be made to Tronstad Road in front of the Koenig Subdivision, other than bringing Tronstad Road up to current county road standards, unless such improvements are part of a comprehensive plan addressing the full length of the road and broader public safety and infrastructure issues. Furthermore, we strongly oppose any efforts leading to annexation without full transparency and meaningful input from the residents most affected by these proposed changes.
