downtown cruising Public Comment from Karen Nichols Aimee Brunckhorst From: Karen Nichols <knichols.flathead@gmail.com> Sent: Monday, October 28, 2024 5:11 PM To: Kalispell Meetings Public Comment Subject: EXTERNAL downtown cruising Kalispell City Council, Thankyou for considering ordinances to address cruising in downtown Kalispell. I fully support any such ordinances. I am hopingyou will also be discussing the issue of extremely loud vehicles on our city streets, presumably from modified engines/mufflers.We have lived in downtown Kalispell for 35 years and this problem has dramatically increased over the past few years. These high-decibel noises are disrupting our activities most every day and night, notjust weekend evenings. I often wake at 11 p.m., 2 a.m. or 6 a.m., to the sounds of excessive and startling noises coming from vehicles racing along our city streets. I also feel this is a safety issue as I've witnessed some of these drivers racing on the streets at high speeds, endangering other motorists and pedestrians. I greatly appreciate your attention to this issue and encourage you to consider ordinances addressing the excessive noise and speed coming from modified vehicles. This problem exists well beyond downtown and any solutions should address this city-wide. Thankyou for considering my concerns and those of many of my neighbors.
