BACKGROUND: We have recommended the installation of a number of stop signs
to better clarify who has the right-of-way at specific intersections. We feel the
installation of these signs is essential to maintain traffic safety at these sites. We
recommend stop sign installations as follows:
■ On West Washington at 7th Avenue WN
■ On West Oregon at 7th Avenue WN
■ On West Nevada at 7h Avenue WN
■ On West California at 7th Avenue WN
■ On 3d Avenue West at 12th Street
■ On 2 nd Avenue West at 121h Street
■ On 6 th Avenue West at Sunnyside Drive
■ On 7th Avenue West at Sunnyside Drive
■ On 9th Street East at 7th Avenue East

RESOLUTION NO. 4831
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PLACEMENT OF VARIOUS STOP SIGNS AND
DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. That vehicles, including motor vehicles, bicycles, or other vehicles shall be
required to stop in the East and West bound lanes at the following locations:
West Washington at 7th Avenue WN
West Oregon at 7th Avenue WN
West Nevada at 7th Avenue WN
West California at 7th Avenue WN
3rd Avenue West at 12th Street
2nd Avenue West at 12th Street
6th Avenue West at Sunnyside Drive
7th Avenue West at Sunnyside Drive
9th Street East at 7th Avenue East
SECTION 11. The Chief of Police is authorized and directed to erect stop signs at the above
locations.
SECTION 111. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage by the
City Council and approval by the Mayor.
