Warming Center Public Comment from Susan Hale Aimee Brunckhorst From: Susan Hale <dsfamilymt@gmail.com> Sent: Thursday, September 19, 2024 11:05 AM To: Kalispell Meetings Public Comment Subject: EXTERNAL Warming Center I am very disappointed that your Council voted against the warming Center. I live in this neighborhood and unfortunately I was out of town both times you had meetings on it. I know you know this is a needed service but you know people complained about this neighborhood before the warming Center because of the low income housing it's just their latest gripe. So people are going to pay with their lives most likely because you caved in to the minority of people living in this area. Personally I hope Tanya Horn sues the pants off of Kalispell and wins. I have lived here 36 years and have seen more prejudice in this valley more than anywhere my entire life and it makes me sad because I love living here my children live, here my grandchildren live here. And I'm notjust talking because right now I have a homeless person who's been staying in my home because there was no services for her. I'm so tired of hearing that the warming Center is drawing more people here. There have been studies done there's one in Helena in fact that shows that havingthese kind of services do not draw more homeless people. Susan Hale 1083 N Meridian rd i
