Tronstad Public Comment from MalingoKalispell City Council Once again, we are facing a proposal for the development of Tronstad Meadows/Whitetail Crossing. We are disappointed and discouraged to think that just a few weeks ago we dealt with this issue and as a council you looked at all the pros and cons and heard many reasons why the previous development was not appropriate or conducive to the area. Many people, residents in the area, did extensive research and presented a platform that gave you good information on which to make a sound and reasonable decision for not supporting such a development in the area. As per your notice of your September 10, 2024 work session to present an overview of the projects, we recognize that the request for annexation, zoning of R-2 and preliminary plat approval for 355 lots on approximately 110.5 acres is on your agenda. Right away we recognize this proposal represents 30 fewer Lots than previously submitted. This is an insult to those of us surrounded by this plat proposal. The issues for the previous proposal remain the same for this proposal and will remain so until the infrastructure, traffic safety, water, school population, and population in general are addressed. As homeowners on Highland Dr. we remain concerned about the use of our road to not only build and develop the property, but the use of the road for emergency travel by authorized vehicles. This road is not up to standards to handle this kind of traffic. It is our hope that you will consider all of the research done regarding the previous proposal, as nothing has changed other than 30 fewer lots and/or houses and remember why you did not get past the zoning portion of the proposal the first time. We are opposed to the new and revised proposal for the same reasons we were opposed to the previous one. Thank you for your time and service to this community. We need to continue to protect and save this area from over -developing and preserve some of the things that make this place desirable. We need reasonable proposals, and this does not meet those criteria. Respectfully, Joe and Linda Malingo 230 Highland Drive, Kalispell Kalispell Mt ,27 C1
