Tax Lien Certificate#: 234751, Assessor#: 0983395, Tax Year: 2023, Amount: $116.19 Property Address: 15405 North Fork Rd., Polebridge, MT 59928 Permanent Address (September - May): 795 Distant Drums Rd., Sedona, AZ 86336 Dear Ms. Krantz, Upon returning to my permanent residence in Arizona today, August 31, 2024, after staying at my cabin in Polebridge since June 21, 2024, 1 am apoplectic to find in my stack of mail, three (3) Tax Lien Certificates filed against the two (2) parcels of my Montana home (one for $2.00!). It appears that two (2) of the Tax Lien Certificates received are identical (see numbers 2 and 3 above). I paid my taxes on both parcels for the full year in early November, 2023. Attached, please find copies of the two (2) cancelled checks that posted to your office's account at Glacier Bank on November 20t", 2023. Please be advised that I received NO supplemental tax bill or other request for additional money at any time since my full payment in November, 2023. Ms. Krantz, if for some reason additional money was due, why would you not request it with a simple letter or phone call? I would have remitted payment in a "New York minute". It is unconscionable the way your office has handled this matter. To add insult to injury, they mailed me (or even filed) what I presume are duplicate Tax Lien Certificates. I am not scheduled to return to Montana until June, 2025. In advance, I would like to schedule an appointment to meet with you - at your convenience - in July or August, 2025. In the interim, what must be done to rescind the above Tax Lien Certificates to insure that my property is not in any way encumbered? Madam, I am not a scofflaw, but you have treated me like one. Please contact me immediately, by phone, text or email, to redress this injustice. Appreciating your anticipated cooperation, I remain, Very truly yours, i Thomas J. Pernice (352) 514-4394 2
