Subject: EXTERNAL Neighbor Communication
August 23, 2024, FWC received a copy of a letter from the neighbors of Kalispell directed to mediators Mark, Frank, and
Loraine. FWC writes to ensure that its position is correctly understood.
As FWC wrote in its August 22, 2024 letter, FWC remains open to conversation. FWC was willing to attend the meeting
originally scheduled for August 26th. FWC only provided its August 22nd letter to manage expectations about what FWC
could do to address community issues.
After the mediators received FWC's August 22nd letter, the mediators cancelled the August 26th meeting because they
did not believe the meeting would be productive. The letter that FWC received from the neighbors of Kalispell stated
that the neighbors perceive that"FWC does not want to continue discussions with the neighborhood[.]"That is
incorrect; the mediators cancelled the meeting, not FWC.
FWC is willing to continue the discussion and remains committed to listening to the concerns of community members.
But, again, FWC cannot agree to take on duties off of FWC's property. Any expectation that FWC can control the
behavior of private citizens in the community is not feasible, legal, or practical.
FWC welcomes any further communication.
