Eastside Neighborhood Concern Public Comment from Cassidy Kipp Aimee Brunckhorst From: Cassidy Kipp <cyvonnekipp@gmail.com> Sent: Friday, July 19, 2024 7:07 AM To: Kalispell Meetings Public Comment Subject: EXTERNAL Re: Eastside Neighborhood Concern [NOTICE: This message includes an attachment-- DO NOT CLICK on links or open attachments unless you know the content is safe.] Good Morning, Some images from my morning neighborhood walk. After the body of the local woman was found in the Outlaw under suspicious circumstances earlier this year I had hoped we might see improved security measures, however it's really getting rough now and it makes me very concerned for safety. Not to mention that people pass this decaying building on their way to the historic east side neighborhood that we all have worked so hard to preserve for the benefit of our community. Is there anything that can be done to make the owners at least stabilize this space so that there is less of a public safety risk? This is alarming and negatively impacting my neighborhood. I have been a homeowner on 3rd Ave East since 2007. Currently three wide open doors allowing for interior access to buildings can be observed,as well as one door that is obviously open near the convention center entrances on the east side of the Outlaw.Vehicles are broken down on campus, trash is surrounding the area, weeds are everywhere and the graffit is gettingvulgar. The'fencing' is movable and clearly breached by those wishing to enter. Since the Outlaw closed 2+years ago things have declined markedly at this location and to be honest, my kids will no longer walk in that area as they head to/from friends houses or Lions Park. The optics are horrible and I can't imagine it is doing much to improve my property value. I really hope that something is done to get this area cleaned up. It is not a welcoming scene as people arrive into our neighborhood. >Thankyou, > Cassidy Kipp 6
